Parking & Transportation:

As the Harris is nestled in downtown Chicago, street parking is available, but can be pricey. Closest street parking is available on Stetson or Beaubien, which are perpendicular streets adjacent to the theater. The Millennium Park Garage offers direct access into the theater and is attached to the lower lobby entrance. The garage entrance is located at 5 South Columbus Ave, and can accommodate vehicle height up to 6’8”. To find the closest accessible parking to the theater entrance, follow signage for “Harris Theater” posted in the garage to Levels 2 or 3 north. These spots are closest to the garage lobby, where you can take an elevator to the Harris entrance. There are areas of seating in both the main floor and balcony that do not require stairs. All lobby areas and seating levels that require stairs have an elevator or ramp option.

Accessible Seating Area Details

Designated accessible seating areas are located in four areas on the main floor and four areas in the balcony level. There are two areas in Row R on the mainfloor, Row DD on the mainfloor, Row A in the lower balcony, and Row J in the upper balcony. Each of these areas is able to fit two wheelchairs and up to two companion seats (flexibility on number of adjacent companion seats dependent upon time of sale). All designated accessible seating areas are located in the house right or house left outer aisle sections. Images of locations and view of the stage available upon request.

Balcony Details:

As they are a rental house, ticket price per all levels and age requirements will vary per engagement. They have both a lower and upper balcony, both accessible via elevator. All ticketing is for seated areas—no standing room only permitted.

Seating-Other/Details:

The chairs in accessible seating areas are unfixed, removable padded chairs with arms. These can be used for patron with accessibility need or a companion. Reach out to access@harristheaterchicago.org with any questions!

Accommodations for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Patrons:

They have an infrared Assistive Listening System for all levels of seating. ALDs available for check out with I.D. at the Security office. Requests for captioning, interpreters are honored to the best of their ability. They recommend requesting accessibility services two weeks in advance, but no less than 72 hours.
